Digital Envelopes

Full color envelopes are a great way to draw a potential customers attention to your mailing and ensure that it gets opened quickly. Our digital envelope printing process is a cost effective method of producing a small quantity of envelopes and even large quantities of specialty sizes of envelopes. The digital printing process allows us to print the design directly onto the envelope and eliminates the costly conversion process necessary with offset printing of unusual sizes. For that process, we first print the art on a flat sheet, die cut the paper into the shape of the envelope, glue it, and add a window if needed. Being able to print the design right on the envelope at the start instead saves a lot of time and money.

Digital envelope printing has some very specific guidelines. Only 40% of the surface area can be covered with ink, and space must be left for postage and addresses. There must also be at least a 3/16 inch white border around the envelope, so your design cannot go to the edge of the envelope. Within these guidelines, we can print virtually any text or design that you would like.

Cheap envelope printing is available on a number of different paper stocks. We offer four varieties of 24-pound envelopes (24#), as well as 28-pound (28#) and 80-pound selections. The 24-pound options include Classic Crest Smooth, Classic Crest Linen, Classic Crest Laid, and Bond. The Classic Crest envelopes also offer a variety of colors to choose from: solar white, brilliant white, natural white, baronial ivory, and antique gray.

These short run envelopes are printed with four-color ink for an attractive and eye-catching design. Since the printing processes are different, the colors produced by digital printing will not exactly match those generated from the offset printing method. The ink on the envelopes is heat fast up to 400 degrees, so you can easily run our full color envelopes through your own office printer to add addresses and mailing information without fear of smearing the previously printed design.

We offer a large variety of envelope size options to suit nearly every mailing application. The standard #9 or #10 window or plain envelopes are of course quite popular, but there are a number of more unusual choices available also. Sizes as large as 9" x 12", 10 by 13 inch booklet or catalog envelopes contrast with the smaller A-2, A6 and A7 varieties.

Short run envelopes are available in specified quantities as low as 25 or as high as 5000. Although we can print custom quantities, it is generally cheaper to order one of the set quantities and simply ask us not to ship the overage. Typically, unless you are printing an unusually sized envelope, it is more cost effective to choose offset printing for large quantities and digital printing for smaller orders. However, it is always a good idea to compare prices on both options as at times it is cheaper to print digitally if your art meets the requirements.

For large quantities of standard size envelopes, 4-Color Offset Envelopes are available. If for some reason you prefer only one or two color printing, we do offer 1 and 2 Color Envelopes.

    Quantity

The quantity available is dependent on the order specifications you choose. To see available quantities, complete all order specifications in the pricing calculator and click on the "Quantity" dropdown menu.

Due to our printing process, we print in specific quantity increments. If you would like an amount not listed in the pricing calculator, you have two options.

    1. Request a custom estimate for the specific quantity you need
    2. Order a larger quantity and ask us to ship only what you need

Ordering one of our specified quantities is generally more affordable than a custom estimate. Let us know how many units you would like shipped and we will recycle the excess for you. Simply choose the amount of items you would like recycled under the "shipping" section after placing your order.

For example, if you would like 700 units, you can order 1000 units and let us know you only want 700 shipped. We will responsibly dispose of the extras.

We typically print more than the quantity ordered. Because printing is a manufacturing process, the total finished quantity may vary. We usually ship a few more than you order, but sometimes quantities can vary +/- 5%. Standard industry procedure is to consider this range shipment in full.

    When to choose Offset

4-Color Offset printing is ideal for lower prices on large quantity orders or any time you would like coating on your products.

Almost always, people choose this option when ordering large quantities.
