General Info:

  • Color - All files should be saved in CMYK color. We cannot print files created in RGB color mode. Files submitted in RGB will be converted to CMYK which may cause a shift in the color.
  • Will my printed piece match what I see on my monitor? - Colors that you see on your screen will not always match the final printed piece, especially if your monitor is not calibrated. Computer monitors and desktop printers often use an RGB color composition, while high quality printing presses use a CMYK color composition. Color that you see on a monitor or television screen is called additive color and has a different set of properties from subtractive color , which is the kind of color that applies to your printout. Additive color emanates directly from a light source. Subtractive color comes from light which is relfected off of an object from a light source . Because additive color comes to our eyes directly (unless it is filtered), it is purer color and is able to represent a broader range of the spectrum than subtractive color. For this reason, even under the best circumstances, additive and subtractive color never match exactly.

Your promotional piece will be as accurate a representation possible based on the materials you supply. However, we cannot guarantee an exact color match without the purchase or submission of an accredited proof.

Some colors are more susceptible to fluctuation then others. These colors include blue, red, purple, orange and black. Please pay close attention to the CMYK percentages used in the design process as these can easily shift on press.

    Recommended Black
Small black text should be set up as a pure black: C=0%, M=0%, Y=0% and K=100% to ensure proper registration. If you are using a rich solid rich black for a background, we recommend that you use the following percentages: C=40%, M=0%, Y=0% and K=100.
